Michael “Moose” Smith is a long-time “Outer Banker”, both as a vacationer and a full-time resident. For 14 years he was co-host of the most listened to radio show in northeast North Carolina, “Moose & Jody In The Morning on radio station Beach 104. “Moose”, his nickname since he was 15 years old, and his on-air radio name for decades in Raleigh-Durham, Greensboro-Winston Salem-High Point, and Norfolk-Virginia Beach.

Michael built and operated a multi-million dollar media operation on the Outer Banks for Max Media, which at one point included 8 radio stations and an online news outlet. Along with entertaining, informing, and supporting listeners and readers, their commitment to the Outer Banks community during hurricanes is still unmatched by any media group.

After that company was sold Moose was asked to join the elite group of real estate brokers at Outer Banks Realty Group. Michael now uses his negotiating skills, honed through many years in media sales, to bring buyers and sellers together. He uses his decades of life experience on the OBX to help guide clients to their perfect spot on the beach.
